DERMA
WORLD PREMIERE AS PART OF SHORTIES AT
FITZ - THEATRE OF ANIMATED FORMS
PREMIERE ON THE 16. DECEMBER 2025
Memory is a choice - said Ocean Vuong in his utterly emotional On Earth We Are Briefly Gorgeous.
Yet sometimes, memory is like a flood, impossible to be ignored. For instance when we face an empty apartment, surrounded by anonymous boxes, which are supposed to represent an entire lifetime. This theme of identity and memory, of living spaces and the body, is explored by Emanuele Coccia in his Philosophy of the Home. Both writings play a fundamental role in shaping DERMA, a new solo performance choreographed and performed by Giaquinto.
Highly personal in its approach yet universal for its theme, DERMA follows a clumsy human as they intend on moving out of somewhere, carrying years of memory with them.

TECUM
WORLD PREMIERE AT THE
TANZBIENNALE HEIDELBERG
PREMIERE ON THE 2. FEBRUARY 2025
The other is just me reflected in a mirror | Andrea Camilleri
TECUM is a duet based on empathy. In times when antisemitism, racism and the constant fear of the other is more present than ever, Giaquinto felt compelled to place questions about perception and kindness, wondering if our new digitalised world can still offer space for physical connection, for understading and empathy. Danced together with Laura Miotti, Giaquinto will selebrate the premiere of TECUM at the Tanzbiennale Heidelberg as part of the evening Ba-Wü Choreograf*innen 1 shared with Sara Scarella, Philipp Raiß and Fran Diaz

SOLARE
NEW CREATION for the
INTERNATIONAL GUITAR FESTIVAL
in TÜBINGEN
PREMIERE ON NOVEMBER 17th 2024
‘After lunch, we laid down to rest, lulled by the mosquito nets and kitchen noises.
Glimpses of the ceiling fell through the slightly open windows and
something abstract took hold of me.’ - Franco Battiato.
Childhood memories of summers in Italy and the intangible desire to pack the sun and store it away form the original images and ideas for the dance piec SOLARE. Named after the score of the same name by Fausto Romitelli, SOLARE endeavours to make this irresistible warmth tangible.
Tiredness leads to dreaming and mixes longing and reality, hope and illusions with despair, until it offers us a handful of surrealistic and primitive images full of simple and intuitive poetry.

PREMIERE ON APRIL 5th 2025
“Gathered around the topic of farewell, breaking up and dispersion, artists respond with encounter, dialogue, and open experiment. In this process, their task is to re-join everything that is broken, fragmented and dispersed, to blend the new music score with new choreographies, to negotiate their author positions, make connections between the fractures and discover mutual points in sharp contrasts. At the breaking point, through encounter, find again space for negotiations, adaptation and compromise, three preconditions not only for art, but for every new love.”

DISSTILLATO D’ABBANDONO
NEW COLLECTION OF POEMS
published with EDIZIONI DIALOGHI
“The poems that form this collection of eclectic spirit have been written over the course of many years. They bare in them the flavour of different countries and have been born out of very diverse experiences. What bindes them together is their desire to simplify emotion without minimizing it, eliminate the superfluous and dig for the focus of experience. Tenderness, vulgarity, dreaminess and anger, disgust and unconditional love alternate in a carousel of crisp images demonstrating the impactful result of vulnerability.”
